All you have to do is look out your window (or your A/C dial) to know that summer is definitely here. Here at The Complete Paddler we're ready for it and have loaded up our calendar with events to keep ourselves down by the water where it's sunny and breezy.
MEC Paddlefest: Per the usual, annual celebrations, TCP will be packing up the trailer and hauling on down to Sunnyside Beach for the weekend of June 9-10. We will be offering FREE test paddles on a large assortment of canoes and kayaks for people of all ages and skill levels. So come stop by our booth (convieniently located right in front of the Sunnyside Pavillion), we'll have an assortment of small accessories on sale, brochures to browse and knowledgeable staff available for any questions or inquiries. Paddlefest always proves to be a fun weekend for everyone so grab your hat, sunscreen and glasses, bathing suit and towel and come say hello to summer!
Try Before You Buy Days at Harbourfront: New this month, The Complete Paddler will be down at Harbourfront Canoe and Kayak Centre every Monday (starting June 11th) from 6:30-8:30pm with boats for customers to come and test out, free of charge. There is a ton of information out there about what makes the "right" or "wrong" boat, but here at TCP we firmly believe the only test to go by is the personal paddling test. Your comfort doesn't lie so if you've been thinking about getting into paddling but don't really know where to start, this is a great chance to find the best fit and we'll be there to help you every step of the way. Had your eye on a boat in the store that you've been wanting to try? Let us know and we'll be sure to bring it down especially for you! We have the boats, we have the gear, now all we're missing are the paddlers (hint: that's you).
Pool Sessions: Due to popular demand we have added more dates for our Introduction to Kayaking and Learn to Roll classes at the Glenforest Pool. Be sure to check out our event calendar for dates and times that will work for you!
Canoe the Credit: The Complete Paddler is honoured to once again be co-hosting at Canoe the Credit on Sunday, June 24. We invite you to join us for the Family Fun Paddle in an effort to support local environmental projects. There is no registration necessary and boat rentals are available for $10 an hour if you don't have a boat. All the proceeds will be going directly to the Conservation Youth Corps Program.
